Fa(shion) la la la la

♪Deck the halls with boughs of holly, fa la la la la la la!♪
Okay I know I'm a little too excited (as I'm typing this I'm belting out the carol at the top of my voice), but CHRISTMAS IS COMING! Which means that beautiful decorated houses are coming, warm sugar cookies are coming, turkeys are coming, and gifts are coming! Most important of all, family gatherings are coming!
In the jolly times of seeing family and friends, who doesn't want to be dressed festively and nicely? Here are a few tips that I have for this year's Christmastime dress code:

1. the basics
Some beautiful dresses that are not just Christmassy - you can wear all year round!

These two pretty numbers from Free People are a little on the pricey side, but oh well, you can always ask for them as Christmas presents... The lace detail on the red dress  is just gorgeous - so delicate, so feminine, but the color red is at the same time very racy and bold. The white dress, in my opinion, is more made for those who like to sleep in during the holidays. The cleanliness and casualness of it matched with bed-mussed hair cannot be cuter. Slip on a pair of fuzzy socks and sip away all the peppermint hot chocolate!

2. the layers
When it's a little colder in the house, or when you are going out, throw some layers over your dress to dress it up more!

The white dress would go really well with the navy sweater with jeweled detail or the cozy red cardi; the red dress paired with the varsity-jacket lookalike cardi would add to its boldness in design and at the same time balance it out with some quieter colors.

3. the accessories
Last but not least, the accessories are what really bring out an outfit by adding that perfect final touch to the outfit. Here are some eye-catching accessories that will also keep you warm!

The embellished headwrap goes well with casual wavy hair or cute boyish short hair; wear it with the red dress and varsity cardi. the off white eternity scarf, well, it's just so comfy; wear it with the white dress and either the navy sweater or the red cardi.

Happy holidays! I hope you guys rock whatever you wear this holiday season!

Graduation Planning!!!

Guess who forgot to hit the "Publish" button? That's right. It's fashion Saturday again everybody :D

It's almost graduation time (I'm sure you're sick of me saying this)!!! And there are things that everybody needs:

  1. A diploma
  2. Money
  3. Graduation gifts for friends and enemies
  4. More money
  5. DRESSES
I'm a huge dress wearer (even though I don't get to do it very often). I love buying dresses for no reason at all. But graduation is definitely a good reason to go shopping. So I've picked out my top three dresses for graduation:

Number One:

Strapless Chiffon High-Low Dress from debshops.com

I love high-low dresses so much and this one looks really comfy. And even better yet? It's only $29.50! That's a steal

Number Two:

Chiffon floral-embroidered dress from madcloth.com

This dress is beautiful. I'd never wear it but I can think of a few people who would look gorgeous in it. But...the catch is that it's $115. And if you're going to college and you're paying for it yourself that might be an issue. Still amazing, and it'd make a good homecoming dress.
I found this one in Teen Vogue and I would like to point out that the title of the article ironically is:
"20 Graduation Dresses under $200. These pretty dresses are just right for your big day and won't break the bank." You know how many books I could buy with $115 right?

Number Three:

Floral A-Line Dress from forever21.com

And making our way back towards affordable ($22) is F21 with this gorgeous piece. I love floral and I love this style.

Drum roll for new tradition!

Which is--bum bum bum--

FASHION FRIDAY! :)

Like the name, I'm going to talk about a little fashion tips every Friday. And by fashion tips I mean my style preferences in clothing, makeup, accessories, etc. I hope that by introducing Fashion Friday to our blog, it'll be more fun and practical.

Anyhow, today I'm going to talk about styling cardigans. The one shown in the photos happens to be a long-ish, mid-thigh-length piece. In case anyone is wondering, it's from Free People, and I bought it on sale I think.

style #1: casual
I paired the cardigan with a boyfriend jean shirt (long-ish, covers my butt), leggings, and riding boots (and of course, the apple :)
Personally this is my favorite combination, because it's comfy, and warm, and is suitable for an outdoor field trip day, or just regular school, or even to the park.

style #2: dressy
For this outfit, I paired the cardigan with a maroon dress with the cute bow-tie :) and I'm wearing the same riding boots. I don't know if you can see it, but I'm wearing black knee socks, they peek out the boots just a little bit...yeah. This outfit could be for dates, or a dressier dinner occasion.

style #3: lazy-bum :DDD
There is no picture for this style... because it's lazy bum style, and it's not supposed to look good! For this style, I'm going for comfy. So what you do is: you throw on some t-shirt and yoga pants, and then drape the cardigan over for warmth and fuzziness...zzZ, time for a nap or movie!!

Finally, I'm gonna sign my post with a funny picture of me in style #2.
